This wool–linen scarf was designed for Lapuan Kankurit, starting from a bright orange-red linen yarn with a strong, distinctive character. Linen is a stiff material, and when given space it begins to move and flow, almost as if the yarn has a personality of its own. In the fabric, the linen is woven between layers of wool and bound only minimally, allowing it to float within the structure and create a sense of movement and depth. Rather than appearing as surface stripes, the colour is embedded inside the woven layers, making the scarf visually subtle yet structurally unique. This is a textile that can only be made through weaving, combining material understanding, technique, and the mill’s expertise in industrial weaving that retains a hand-woven feel.
